Financial Controller

Badenoch & Clark are working with an very successful, fast growing SME who are looking to recruit a Financial Controller into the team.

Responsibilities

* Preparation of consolidated monthly management accounts for UK and US companies
* Statutory year-end accounts and audit (with external auditors)
* Reconcile and agree inter-company balances
* Full Balance Sheet reconciliations
* Review of payroll and benefits
* Interacting with HMRC for payroll, VAT, share valuations, etc.
* Working closely with HR on pay and employee benefits
* Raising of invoices and subsequent tracking/credit control
* Help with preparation and tracking of customer and supplier contracts
* Project administration, including time and cost tracking and reporting
* Assistance with financial budgeting and forecasting
* Manage cashflow and treasury
* Continuously improve systems and internal controls
* Overall management responsibility for finance team
* Other administrative tasks, as required

Requirements

The ideal candidate will be a quick learner and will have the following attributes:
* A solid understanding of accounting, VAT, payroll, audit, etc. and a good grounding in accounting practice is essential
* Familiarity with NetSuite and/or other accounting packages
* A good understanding of project accounting and reporting
* Good oral and written communication skills
* Attention to detail with a proactive problem-solving attitude
* Excellent Excel skills, ability to build and manage complex financial spreadsheets
* Relevant tax experience such as R&D tax credits useful but not essential
* Experience of working in multiple jurisdictions
* Knowledge of commercial contracts, company secretarial issues and/or compliance would be advantageous
* People management experience
* Fully CIMA/ACCA/ACA qualified or equivalent
