Management Accountant

Client:

Castlefield Recruitment are currently working with a public sector organisation in Merseyside to recruit an Interim Management Accountant. It will initially be for three months however is likely to be extended due to a number of projects that will arise over the upcoming months.

Duties:

·Assisting with co-ordinating the preliminary work in order to produce the budget statements and subsequent actions to finalise the monthly position

·To be proactive in following up any issues arising from the final monthly position with the relevant budget holders, analysing and interpreting complex information

·Set up and maintain spreadsheets and databases and provide more complex or sensitive information accurately and in a report format for budget holders as required

·Provide advice to budget holders on technical financial issues

·Providing support to the Divisional Accountants in setting the annual budget and assisting with the completion of final accounts

·Be proactive in the organisation’s annual budget setting process, identifying cost pressures and costing business plans as requested

·Supervision, training and support of junior staff and delegation of work as appropriate

·Assist internal and external audit as required and assist with the implementation of any recommendations following audit

·Plan and monitor progress on own tasks and those of junior staff, to deliver goals to time, accurately and maintaining the quality requirements of the department

·Maintaining an effective working relationship with other members of the Finance Department, Budget Holders and other staff, responding to their needs and delivering a high level of customer satisfaction

Person:

• Previous finance experience

• NHS experience desired

• Currently studying towards an Accountancy qualification

• Ability to work to strict Deadlines

• Use of Oracle or similar financial system
