Progress Housing Group

Non-Executive Director

£5,467 per annum

About us :

Progress Housing Group has been meeting the needs of over 10,000 customers and developing the communities in which they live for over 20 years. Looking at the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead, we wish to recruit non-executive directors to strengthen our governance team further.

Job Description :

At present, our boards meet on a monthly basis, normally on the first Monday of each month for four hours. This is of course, not set in stone and additional board meetings are convened as and when necessary according to the requirements of the business.

Some Non Executive Directors undertake additional roles on either the Audit or Remuneration and Nominations Committee or a working party.  Papers are sent a week to 10 days in advance to allow the NEDs to prepare. There is also the Annual General Meeting (the first Monday in September) and induction sessions (3 half days during the summer). The maximum length of service is 9 years.

  • We are looking to recruit team members who will help us deliver our vision whilst ensuring the Group’s values are at the heart of everything we do. Your experience must be matched by your freedom of mind, ability to think differently and question the norm.
  •  As a forward thinking person you will have a desire to help us grow and develop new products and services to meet the needs of our customers and the communities we serve.
  • You may have experience in the housing sector although this is not required or be a senior manager in a financial role e.g. Financial Controller or Financial Director.
  • A background in financial, commercial and business, accountancy, treasury, voluntary or housing sectors or regional networks would be beneficial.
  • Please note that successful applicants may be required to serve on one of the Board’s sub-committees.

The closing date for all applications is noon on Monday 9 April 2018. Interviews will be held on Thursday 3 May and Friday 4 May 2018 at our offices in Leyland.

We are committed to equality and diversity and would like our Registered Provider Board to represent the diverse communities that we work in.  We positively welcome applications from people from diverse backgrounds.
