At Bristol Zoological Society, our mission is to save wildlife through conservation action and to engage people with the natural world.

Our wonderful planet is full of amazing wildlife and habitats. A great number of which are under threat. We aim to engage and build relationships with people and organisations and help nature conservationists of the future – all with the aim of saving wildlife together.

We achieve this mission through operating two wildlife sites; Bristol Zoo Gardens and the Wild Place Project. These two sites welcome more than 800,000 guests a year, from families, couples and school groups, and we strive to offer a world class visitor experience to every single one of them.

The new Finance Director will play a pro-active role in delivering this goal.

We are currently recruiting for a high-level finance professional to become a member of the Senior Management Team, contributing a vital role to the financial control, strategic development and planning of the business.

The overall purpose of this role is to develop, recommend and implement the Society’s financial strategy and its business plan while ensuring robust financial governance is in embedded and maintained at all times.

We invite applications from those who hold a professional accountancy CCAB qualification and who have operated at senior management/executive level, with knowledge and experience of accounting procedures in a not for profit/charity organisation.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate experience in leading strategic and business planning processes and have the ability to develop and execute new ideas and concepts.

Closing date for applications is noon on 1st May 2018, initial interviews will take place on 17th/18th May.
