Chief Financial Officer

XQ Cyber is an innovative and fast growing start-up Cyber Security business, based in Tewkesbury. In the last couple of years, it has gone from nothing to a company with a reputation throughout the sector for simplifying cyber issues and delivering solutions that customers (of any size or sector) want.

CyberScore is XQ Cyber’s first product and the company has already built a strong pipeline of customers from SME’s through to large enterprises looking to better manage the risk in their supply chains. The next few years will be a transformational journey as the business continues to go from strength to strength and we are now looking for a Chief Financial Officer / Finance Director, to work closely with the Chief Executive, taking the business through Series A funding and beyond and maximise this opportunity. 

The role

Working at board level, you will need to:
Finance

1. Oversee the issuing of financial information
2. Report financial results to the board of directors
3. Manage any third parties to which accounting or finance functions have been outsourced
4. Construct and monitor reliable financial control systems
5. Oversee the company's transaction processing systems
6. Implement operational best practices

Funding

1. Monitor cash balances and cash forecasts
2. Arrange for debt and equity financing
3. Invest funds
4. Participate in conference calls with the investment community
5. Maintain banking relationships
6. Represent the company with investors

Legal

1. Monitor all open legal issues involving the company, and legal issues affecting the industry
2. Review and recommend changes to any new customer contracts
3. Take part in client and supplier negotiations

Risk Management

1. Understand and mitigate key elements of the company's risk profile
2. Maintain appropriate insurance coverage
3. Ensure that the company complies with all legal and regulatory requirements
4. Ensure that record keeping meets requirements 
5. Report risk issues to the board

The Successful Applicant

The ideal candidate will have a solid track record in a similar senior finance role and possess the following attributes

• Qualified accountant ACA, CIMA or ACCA with at least 5 years PQE
• Experienced at board level and particularly in raising finance and working with Private Equity
• You will have strong financial and commercial acumen, someone who thinks strategically, analytically and takes a proactive approach to finding effective solutions
• Enthusiastic, driven and self-motivated personality with the ability to work in a fast paced, growing business
• Strong IT skills and an interest in IT / Cyber (although experience in the sector is not a requirement).

XQ Cyber is growing rapidly and we’re looking for a CFO who not only has the skills and experience to lead the current business, but who can grow with us. The role is full-time and permanent. Our policies are designed to fit around modern life, but the role is based at our head office in Tewkesbury. We offer competitive basic salaries and (potentially) extremely lucrative LTIPs.
