Finance Change Lead
18 month fixed term contract
£50,955 - £56,236 depending on experience
Leicestershire County Council is one of the best performing councils in the country. We've achieved several decades of high performances, with our success recognised by national Government, industry awards and our residents.
To ensure that the Finance function continues to play a full part in the County Council's success we have launched an ambitious improvement programme. We are looking to recruit a Finance Change Lead who will manage a range of significant projects that impact the financial management and operations of the County Council.
At the heart of this programme is the implementation of the Oracle Fusion ERP. By implementing a new ERP we are looking for much more than a change in technology and are targeting improvements in working practice and financial analysis capabilities.
You will be responsible for leading the Finance business change activity from the design phase through to post go-live transition. Acting as the link between Finance and the Fusion programme team, including the system implementation partner, you will ensure that the agreed objectives for Finance are delivered.
The Finance Lead will manage the various finance work streams, ensuring a coherent implementation approach and credible resource plan. They will be responsible for the transition to business as usual, including changes to role responsibilities and implementation of the support model for Fusion.
The Person
The successful candidate will have extensive experience across the breadth of Finance and a proven experience of managing improvement projects for a Finance function. Ideally the candidate will have experience of an ERP implementation, but this is not essential.
The role requires the successful candidate to be an exceptional team player, both within and outside of the Finance function. Including using a collaborative approach to select and implement the best solutions for all parties.
Working across all levels of the organisation the Finance Lead will need to be able to influence a range of stakeholders and challenge other's thinking in a constructive way. It is not essential for the successful candidate to have previous local government experience, but they must be able to adapt and apply finance best practise to a wide range of diverse services.
This post is offered on an 18 month fixed-term contract with the possibility of an extension to meet programme delivery requirements.
This programme is an opportunity to really make a difference. You'll make your mark on a large-scale system implementation as well as deliver cultural and process transformation within a large organisation.
