We are delighted to be able to support our Client, a leading Retailer, with their search for a Lead Finance Analyst on Payroll. This role will be based at our Client's stunning offices in Central Manchester, which are very easily accessible by car & public transport. Part of the Commercial Finance team supporting the Group, this is a newly created role which will look after Payroll projects.

This is an excellent opportunity to work as part of a fast paced, high profile business unit which makes up 80% of the Group's revenues. You will gain really good exposure as you will regularly be presenting your work to a wide range of Senior Stakeholders and you will have the chance to get involved in a variety of innovative & interesting projects.

Duties will include:

- Reconciling & analysing payroll costs of 50,000 store colleagues across 4,500 stores
- Managing all forecasting & modelling to consider the impacts of operational changes such as store structure & hours allocated
- Linking in with any projects which may also require financial modelling input. Analysing different scenarios & business cases in relation to payroll
- Owning & driving improvement within the payroll planning process as well as feeding into salary & reward governance processes


Experience / Qualifications required:

- Qualified Accountant with several years PQE.
- The ideal candidate will be a really competent Technical Analyst who doesn't particularly want to be a Manager.
- You must have previous experience of working on a very large payroll.
- It would be absolutely ideal if you are from a Retail background. However, my Client will also consider candidates from FMCG or other labour intensive sectors with multi-site environments.
- You need to be resilient and able to hold your own in this fast paced environment.

This role is paying a Salary of between £45,000 - £50,000 + 5% Bonus + 10% retail discount + Contributory Pension.


You will work 37 hours per week with flexible start & finish times. You will also have the option to work from home 1 day per week.
