Summary

This role resides within the Group Central Reporting team and specifically supports accounting for and reporting on Treasury performance.

The Department is responsible for Interest, Debt and Derivative accounting, budgeting, forecasting and reporting.

The role is a mixture of financial accounting, management accounting and cross functional project work.

Main Responsibilities

  • Financial control and reporting for Net Investment Hedging and Intercompany currency loan hedging including balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Calculation, accounting and reporting of Credit Valuation Adjustment /Debit Valuation adjustment.
  • Play a key role in Finance transformation project especially in relation to a new installed Treasury Management System.
  • Accounting for and reporting of Diesel derivatives.
  • External statutory reporting - (Financial Instruments Disclosure).
  • Support Treasury in relation to new initiatives and projects.

The diverse nature of the role ensures a wide variety deliverables and working relationships, which makes the role both challenging but also interesting.

  • A high level of cross functional working is required, working closely with the Treasury Dept and overseas subsidiaries to ensure accounting complies with External Accounting Standards and Tesco Group Accounting Policies.
  • Main relationships outside the business include external auditors and several software suppliers



Ideal Candidate

  • Qualified accountant with experience of accounting for Treasury derivatives IAS39/IFRS9.
  • Strong financial accounting skills especially in relation to derivative accounting
  • Ability to co-ordinate and organise own and colleagues time.
  • Will always be looking to improve current process to drive new efficiencies, whilst maintaining strong financial control at all times.
  • Experience of General Ledger (Oracle), Treasury Management Systems (Openlink Findur), Consolidation system (HFM), Mark-to-Market (Reval) & Bloomberg are desirable.
  • Full training will be given on all systems so knowledge of these specific systems is not a prerequisite, however knowledge is expected of these or similar systems.
