Investigo are currently working with a great business as they look to hire a financial/systems accountant for their team in London.

Role Purpose;

  • To assist in the day-to-day management of the financial operation of businesses within the Group and take ownership for one / more of its legal entities as agreed. To ensure financial integrity of the management accounts and accounting processes as well as systems development.
  • To assist operational improvement, optimisation and system development across the business under the guidance of their manager.
  • To play a key part in the wider Finance Team across all business units as and when required and to support the organization as it grows.

Key duties and responsibilities;

  • Assist with the preparation of Monthly Management Accounts for business units.
  • Ensure the integrity of the business unit P&L's by way of project cost/revenue scrutiny, ensuring all costs and revenues are allocated correctly.
  • Review the company Balance Sheets
  • Monthly analysis of overheads/fixed costs against budget
  • In conjunction with the Financial Controller and Senior Management prepare the annual budgets and forecasts in line with the corporate timetable, scrutinizing assumptions to ensure accuracy
  • Support the operations team in capturing and reporting on unbilled revenue and its ageing profile; reporting risk and non-payment issues upward as and when identified
  • Regularly review the aged debtors schedule/profile and provide assistance to the credit control team
  • Review and authorize company credit card and cash expense claims as required
  • Maintain the company Fixed Asset Registers
  • Prepare and Lodge VAT and other statutory returns as required
  • Attend site/client meetings as required
  • Under direction support system integration , optimisation , improvement and deployment projects that add value to the finance function specifically and to the business in general.
  • Work collaboratively with the wider Finance team and support and assist the Finance Controller & Finance Directors with ad-hoc tasks as required

The ideal candidate will

  • Be a part qualified accountant
  • Have experience in the service industry 2/3 years
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Experience of preparing a full set of management accounts
  • Have system integration and optimisation project knowledge
