Stock Accountant / Analyst

Our client is a successful part of a multi-national, that offers great career opportunities in South Yorkshire. They are seeking to add a Stock Accountant / Analyst to their busy Financial Planning team.

 

The Role:

To support the Financial Planning function and wider business while maintaining a high degree of commercial competence and awareness. Be the lead financial point of contact for the business on inventory levels across all Products sites and support the Procurement function on cost reduction initiatives. Ensure that customer pricing and bids are supporting profitable growth aspirations across the Products business unit.


Responsibilities:

Lead financial aspects of inventory reporting and represent the function in material forecasting and planning meetings.

Provide financial and cash flow inputs on material order placement decisions and drive financial awareness throughout the business.

Review slow moving items with inventory teams and drive inventory reduction actions to optimise overall stock holding.

Partner with the Procurement function on cost reduction initiatives, validate and track savings and report on progress.

Prepare customer bid responses and support the business with commercial advice and awareness.

Support corporate planning, forecasting, budgeting and monthly financial reporting.

Deputise for the Financial Planning Manager as appropriate, attend meetings and represent the function throughout the business on commercial and financial matters


Essential Criteria:

Degree qualified in a finance or business discipline.

Fully qualified professional accountancy qualifications or actively studying towards this goal.

Or Experience in a similar role.

Highly IT literate with experience in Excel and Word.

Familiarity working with MRP systems, ideally SAP.

Pro-active, positive attitude with a flexible approach to working.

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to influence and negotiate with both internal and external stakeholders.

Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.

Occassional travel may be required.
