Credit Controller
Halifax, West Yorkshire
Up to £23,000 + Extensive Benefits Package
Our client is a global provider of technology systems and solutions across the entire insurance industry. They provide core technology solutions, distribution and trading capability, advanced analytics and solution delivery.
Their team is growing, so they are on the lookout for a Credit Controller to join the Finance Team based at their modern Halifax office.
They’d like to meet a Credit Controller with –
- Previous credit control experience
- The ability to focus on key debts & identify cash collection issues as early as possible, to ensure they are resolved either directly with the customer or by getting the business engaged as early as possible
- An excellent telephone manner and the ability to communicate at all levels, both internally & externally
- Problem solving – the ability to follow issues through to conclusion and communicate the end result back to the customer (both externally & internally)
- Experience of performing account and bank reconciliations
- Good time management &organisational skills are essential to prioritise daily tasks and to manage the debt collection processes
- Proficient Microsoft Excel & Microsoft Word skills
The Credit Controller responsibilities include –
- Achieve debtor days between 39 – 45 days
- Debt collection by telephone and email
- Liaising with external customers & internal departments to resolve issues preventing cash collection
- Cash posting & allocation
- Processing one-off DD collections, direct debit mandates & amendments from ePAY
- Credit checking & approving new contracts
- Preparing & sending statements and debt collection letters
- Account reconciliation
- Preparing various monthly reports
- Bank reconciliations
- Reviewing & maintaining suspended contract lines / accounts ‘on stop’
- Negotiating contract settlements
- Raising invoices & credit notes/general office admin – filing/archiving
