Group Company Accountant

Group Company Accountant needed for a business based in Thirsk.

As Group Company Accountant, your duties will include:

• Preparing financial reports and cost reports on a monthly/quarterly basis
• Overseeing the accounting staff
• Mentoring staff for purposes of ensuring that their accounting and analysis duties are done well
• Ensuring that the financial records are accurate
• Ensuring that all financial transactions are properly recorded, filed, and reported
• Ensuring financial reporting systems comply with government regulations and legislation
• Ensuring that the books of accounts are compiled every end of the month
• Ensuring that the books of accounts are compiled at the end of every financial year and in a position for a full independent audit to be carried out
• Working with staff in the accounts department in determining the level of profitability of the company within a specified time
• Ensuring that the decision makers in the Company understand the financial implications of the missions they set in a specific period
• Corresponds with the senior management regarding any financial decisions that are made
• Works with company auditors to ensure year end procedures are followed and audited accounts completed and filed in a timely manner.
• Create, update and communicate financial policies and controls in line with the business and organisation requirements
• Provide clear monthly reporting on financial matters including:
• Management Accounts for each company in the group
• Consolidated Group Management Accounts
• Finance Report for SMT
• Manage cashflow by tracking transactions
• Manage credit control procedures and collect debts that have become overdue
• Prepare and file all Government required returns, including VAT returns

To be considered for the Group Company Accountant position, you must be a qualified account with CIMA.

Salary £35,000 - £40,000 depending on experience.
