Financial Accounting Manager

Gleeson are currently partnering with a global listed business based in Birmingham who are recruiting for a Financial Accounting Manager to join on a permanent business. Financial Accounting Manager: Birmingham

• Ensure effective management of UK treasury
• Manage the relationship with External Auditors to ensure quarterly external audits are completed
• Lead and develop the team to maximise performance and engagement levels.
• Review and approve the following:
• monthly balance sheet reconciliations
• monthly cashflow and related analysis
• actual, budget and forecast submissions
• balance sheet and cashflow forecasts/budgets
• VAT submissions
• Instrastats and government statistics surveys
• Complete UK Statutory accounts

The Candidate:

• Qualified Accountant (ACA/CIMA/ACCA)
• Demonstrable working knowledge of financial accounting in a customer facing commercial business, with exposure to management accounts and financial operations and proven ability to manage cash flow and treasury
• Proven ability to lead and motivate a team
• Excellent interpersonal skills with proven ability to manage and influence stakeholders effectively, including external government bodies and auditors
• Demonstrable working knowledge of e. US GAAP, UK GAAP, SOX, VAT
• Demonstrable working knowledge of the requirements for internal control and segregation of duties
• Strong IT skills with the ability to learn quickly
• Demonstrable understanding of process improvement from review through to scoping and design for change
