Tax Manager

Astute Financial Recruitment is working with a market-leading, multi-national business in Derbyshire seeking to hire an experienced and qualified Tax Manager for their UK operation, commutable from Nottingham, Derby, Burton and Chesterfield.

Reporting into the UK Finance Director, the Tax Manager will lead a team and take chief responsibility for the business’s tax planning, compliance and accounting activities.

This is the perfect opportunity for either an experienced Tax Manager or Tax Manager / Senior from practice seeking a first-move into industry.  

Tax Manager – responsibilities:

• Manage Corporation Tax compliance processes
• Prepare tax risk assessment and tax strategy
• Implement tax planning initiatives and reviewing complex income tax returns
• Forecast group tax rate
• Calculation and reporting of corporate tax provisions
• Manage and coordinate tax audits
• Preparation of regular VAT return
• Deal directly with HMRC
• Ad-hoc tax projects as and when required

Tax Manager – qualifications & experience:

• CTA, ACA or ACCA qualified
• Extensive tax experience gained from either a commercial or practice environment
• Excellent knowledge of VAT and corporation and employment tax
• Sound leadership skills
• Strong interpersonal skills and a proven track record of developing business relationships
