Job Description
This person will oversee the day to day activities of the finance function and be a fully "hands on" FD whilst also offering commercial experience and effective business partnering to the CEO and sales function. The FD will take the lead for the ERP system implementation as well as other operational areas such as IT and HR.
Key Duties include:
- Full management of the finance function and overseeing one assistant
- Management reporting, product costing; international credit control
- FX/Treasury responsibility; able to provide good corporate governance
- Preparation of budgets, forecasts and cash flows
- Maintenance of financial ledgers and accounting processes
- Timely production of statutory and internal financial reports
- Financial modelling and analysis
- Cash, debtors & creditors management
- Ensuring that appropriate systems and internal controls are implemented and maintained
- Overseeing the payroll process
- Oversight of statutory returns incl. VAT
- Responsible for HR/IT function and ERP system implementation
The Successful Applicant
We are looking for fully qualified ACA/ACCA or CIMA Accountant with previous strong financial control, process improvement and export credit exposure. The role would suit either an experienced SME Finance Director, or a strong and capable Financial Controller looking to step up into a number one role (in which case you must be able to demonstrate the relevant experience and gravitas to move to the next level). The role will offer the opportunity of Private Equity exposure and future career opportunities.
You will be comfortable being hands on and also influencing at Board level. The right candidate will be a strong team-player, self-motivated with the ability to quickly contribute to the culture, working with individuals at "shop floor" to board level. The team is small, and a collaborative nature will be imperative to drive this company growth and deliver effective business partnering. Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills are essential.
A background in the manufacturing sector would be highly desirable as are strong IT skills including ERP system implementation. You will have good understanding of product costing, margins and pricing strategy and exposure to working with international partners. You will have strong commercial acumen, someone who thinks analytically and takes a proactive approach to finding effective solutions. M&A/integration exposure would also be advantageous.
