Assistant Accountant

Assistant Accountant role paying up to £33k + study support for wholesale business in London. AAT ACCA CIMA

Your new company
A wholesale business that specialises in clothing is looking for a part qualified assistant accountant to join their head office function based in Central London. Sitting in a finance team of 3, reporting directly to the Finance Director of the business, this is a fantastic opportunity for a an individual who is looking to really excel their career and take it to the next step. This is a development role where you will be offered a lot of responsibility in short time frame.

Your new role
Reporting to the qualified Finance Director, you will be responsible for all month end processes including accruals, prepayments, balance sheet reconciliations and stock reporting. The role has a very exciting analytical offering whereby you will be responsible for profit & loss analysis along with stock profitability analysis for their brand. You will also support the FD by giving commentary for variances against budget, as well as assisting with the preparation of management accounts and improving existing processes within the finance team. As you settle into the role and prove your capabilities, you will be given the chance to take on more responsibilities in line with the preparation of the accounts. Ideally the business is looking to train the right individual so that they can take complete ownership of the finance department, whilst the FD takes more of a strategic route in the business.

What you'll need to succeed
You will ideally have graduated with a finance based degree and be studying towards the ACCA/CIMA qualification. You will have a minimum of 3 years experience in a role where you have been involved in month end processes and assisted with the preparation of accounts with an analytical focus. Ideally you will currently be working within the retail industry and be passionate about building a career within this space.
