Finance Analyst responsibilities include...

 

  • Support our Events department (part of Fundraising and Marketing) with financial analysis
  • Take responsibility for understanding budget changes and provide insightful variance analysis and commentary
  • Support the Fundraising and Marketing finance team in producing both monthly and quarterly reports and management accounts
  • Assist in the production of 5 year operational and/or headcount budgets
  • Assist in providing regular forecasts, reviewing year to date actual figures against the original budget
  • Work with finance colleagues across the charity to complete month end accounting tasks such as accruals, prepayments and transaction checking

This role will be responsible for providing relevant analytical support to CRUK’s Events department which owns Race for Life* as well as other national events. The role will also include taking responsibility for a range of financial administration projects. 

*Race for Life is Cancer Research UK’s largest and oldest event series and has raised millions of pounds to help fund life-saving research since its launch in 1993. In 2016, we recruited nearly 500,000 women to take part in more than 300 events and helped raise £50 million.

  • The ability to provide insightful analysis and commentary to aid understanding of financial data
  • Excellent accuracy and attention to detail
  • The ability to work under pressure and organise own work to ensure deadlines are met
  • The ability to build effective relationships at all levels, working with, partnering and influencing senior management where necessary
  • An understanding of budgetary/forecasting processes and financial controls
