Cambridge, United Kingdom - An exciting opportunity has arisen within this listed, award winning life sciences business based in Cambridge.

Reporting to the CFO, the Group Head of Financial Reporting & Control will be responsible for managing the group finance team to ensure that they meet external obligations to investors as well as public company listing requirements. In addition, preparing robust financial results for key internal stakeholders, including board, executive & business reporting.

The role is responsible for the day to day supervision of the financial reporting, tax and systems teams, including;

* Support for the CFO in driving the governance, delivery and working effectiveness of the group finance team, including setting meetings, driving the agenda, issue resolution and co-ordinating the performance of the finance team in alignment with the needs of the business

* Ensuring close co-ordination with the Group Head of FP&A to ensure delivery of a best in class finance function

* Delivery of world class external financial reporting of the group, including high quality public company reporting to investors in compliance with applicable standards, interactions with the audit committee and leadership of the audit process

* Delivery of world class internal financial reporting of the group, preparing robust financial results for key stakeholders including board, executive and business reporting, working collaboratively with the Group Head of FP&A to drive business intelligence

* Ownership of group accounting policies including assessment of the impact of new accounting standards

* Management of the internal control environment, ensuring its suitability for the company's current and planned public market obligations and ensuring appropriate policies and controls are in place to deliver business plans

* Supporting the CFO with preparation of high quality financial materials for investors and analysts

* Ownership of group accounting policies and management of the internal control environment

* Management of other key group finance matters including treasury foreign exchange management, taxation and corporate finance

* Leadership of the finance systems (including financial aspects of ERP), interacting with other stakeholders as necessary to drive the efficiency and effectiveness of financial reporting

* Preparation of audit committee and board reports as appropriate

* Working in collaboration with the Head of FP&A to develop financially robust commercial budgets and plans and to develop tools, systems and reports to drive commercial business intelligence

Interested candidates will have trained with a top tier accounting firm and will be ACA/ACCA qualified. You will have subsequently gained experience in industry commerce within a publicly listed company and will possess strong leadership/staff management experience, coupled with being a technically strong accountant.
