Assistant Management Accountant

A manufacturing business based in Sheffield are looking to recruit a determined and ambitious Graduate to join their growing finance team as an Assistant Management Accountant.

The role offers study support after 6 months and a contract completion bonus of £1,000. The position has plans to become permanent on successful completion of the initial contact.

This is a 12 month fixed term contract due to commence in June. The successful  Accountant will be immediately available or available at short notice. This position would be well suited to an accountancy and finance graduate with a years’ placement within industry. 

The role of the Assistant Management Accountant will be to engage in and manage day to day transactions within the business as well as providing regular support to the accounting team weekly and during the month end reporting process. 

Assistant Management Accountant Duties & Responsibilities: 

• Assisting with the production of Management Accounts. Including the cost of sales consumption journals, accruals for costs and other reports for management 
• Assisting in overall sales ledger control, such as credit control and debt factoring 
• Assisting in overall purchase ledger control, such as invoice approval and payments 
• Creation of margins analysis by customer and product 
• Assisting with internal treasury issues including F/X hedging, relating both to currency movements and Ni hedges, with treasury Head Office 
• Reporting Key Performance Indicators (financial and operational) into Hyperion Financial Management system 

To be successful in the management accountant role: 

• SAP experience preferred but not essential 
• Strong IT skills able to run, manipulate and calculate spreadsheets 
• ACCA / CIMA Part-Qualified 
• Must be a team player and possess high levels of integrity 
• Ability to work under extreme pressure & to strict, tight deadlines
