UK Finance Director

£100,000 - £120,000 Per Annum + Benefits

Parkinson Lee Executive Search, part of the Elevation Recruitment Group, are acting as retained partner to JELD-WEN, in the appointment of a UK Finance Director

JELD-WEN was originally founded in 1960, and now operates across 22 countries including North America, Europe and Australia. JELD-WEN comprises of approximately 150 divisions employing in excess of 20,000 people.

JELD-WEN are a leading global manufacturer of windows, doors, stairs and treated composite trim and panels.  The group turnover is in excess of $3.5 Billion, half of which comes from outside the United States.

JELD-WEN entered the European market in 1993, and has since grown to encompass brands across the continent. Headquartered in Sheffield and operating across 5 factories, the UK business has been in existence since 1999.  JELD-WEN are market leaders with approximately 1200 staff producing and distributing high quality doors, windows, patio doors and stairs.

Reporting to, and acting as a trusted business partner to the UK Managing Director, the UK Finance Director will be key member of Senior Leadership team.  This is a high profile appointment and key objectives will centre around overseeing the UK Finance function, and supporting the commercial strategy ensuring JELD-WEN manages its finances responsibly and rigorously.

Specifically, you will be:

  • Part of the UK leadership team that develops the business strategy to ensure sustainable, profitable growth
  • Contributing to the strategy across all areas of the business, challenging assumptions and decision-making where appropriate, and providing financial analysis and guidance on all activities.
  • Analysing the financial climate and market, offering informed decisions and opinions regarding future strategy
  • Responsible for all company reporting requirements; including weekly, monthly, quarterly and yearly forecasts.  In addition to all statutory reporting.
  • Ensuring that company financial systems are robust, compliant and support current activities and future growth
  • Ensuring corporate budgeting processes are carried out and reviewed.
  • Ultimately responsibility for the company’s cash management policies; including cash, debtors and creditors
  • The escalation point of contact for customer disputes, warranty claims etc
  • Responsible for ensuring that the regulatory requirements of all statutory bodies are met
  • Co-ordinating all CAPEX requirements
  • A business partner, both internally and externally, maintaining strong working relationships across all levels of the business
  • Driving costing models for all products within the business
  • Proactively managing any business risk to minimise or prevent any potential impacts

The successful candidate will be/have:

  • A qualified accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA)
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment
  • Previous experience working for a US owned organisation would be advantageous
  • Experienced in managing a finance function
  • Exposure to change management or a turnaround situation would also be advantageous
  • Preferably worked through a significant ERP project (SAP preferred)
  • Educated to a minimum of degree level
