About the role 

Reporting directly into the Group Financial Controller, the successful applicant will be an integral part of our continuously growing Finance team. This is an exciting opportunity to join a group of expanding global Medical Communications companies whilst developing your Finance career further. Whilst being an extremely varied position, you will need to be dynamic, accountable and always challenge the status quo. 

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Ability to hit the ground running and absorb the information at a pace as this is a hands-on role, with full accountability
  • Preparation of the Month End accounts for a number of entities, together with analysis, budget tracking and commentary
  • Review of Month End accounts prepared by junior team members
  • Strong double entry skills
  • Responsible for posting accounting journals, including accruals, repayments, accrued income and deferred Income
  • Preparation & review of balance sheet reconciliations
  • KPI reporting
  • Development of junior team members
  • Be a significant part of the year-end audit process & prepare ad hoc financial reports
  • Knowledge of up to date Accounting Standards for preparation of statutory accounts
  • VAT & tax accounting
  • Salary Review & transaction processing
  • Multi-currency experience
  • Good systems knowledge and the ability to challenge the status quo in a dynamic environment
  • Assist with the implementation of new systems and processes to improve efficiency of the finance team
  • Assist with the integration of acquisitions and mergers
  • Adhoc tasks, as required

About you:

  • Qualified ACCA, CIMA or ACA (Part Qualified finalists considered in exceptional circumstances)
  • Proven can-do attitude with an ability to work calmly and accurately
  • Capable to work effectively as part of a team and using your own initiative
  • A confident, tenacious and positive team player
  • A self-motivated individual that can work to strict time deadlines
  • Attention to Detail
  • Proven experience as a Management/Financial Accountant.
  • Working technical knowledge of reporting standards and management accounting techniques.
  • Excellent Excel skills required. (Pivot, Lookups, Sum-if’s etc).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills essential as is the ability to adapt in a highly dynamic environment.
