JELD-WEN are Europe’s largest manufacturer of exterior and interior doors. A multi-billion dollar turnover business headquartered in North Carolina whose acquisition-driven growth strategy has seen them expand to over 22 countries across North America, Europe and Australia. The European region is a billion-dollar business with in excess of 30 sites across 12 countries. Due to this continued expansion JELD-WEN are currently recruiting for an exciting new Director of Financial Accounting position which will be based out of the European HQ in Solihull and will cover the European region.
Your new role
Reporting into the European CFO, the Director of Financial Accounting is an integral part of the European HQ finance leadership team based in Solihull. You will take overall responsibility for the European Consolidation of this large international business. Working collaboratively with the in-country finance teams across Europe you will convert and consolidate inputs to produce a European position into the US. The successful post holder will use their significant expertise and knowledge of good practice to deliver the improvement and standardisation of financial processes and controls across multiple IT systems and to develop a culture of functional excellence and continuous improvement.
This position is critical to the continued growth and success of the European region and will require strong leadership and a ‘hands-on‘ approach to getting the job done. This role will involve around 25% European travel time, visiting our sites to help develop the structure, processing and the indirectly reporting teams. The role will also be involved in the integration of recent acquisitions and the design and implementation of SAP.
What you'll need to succeed
Ideally degree educated you will be a fully qualified chartered accountant (ACA) likely to have trained in a ‘Big4’ accountancy firm. You will have least 5-10 years post qualification multi-site complex, international experience in industry and be conversant with US GAAP with working knowledge of a good controls environment. First class stakeholder management skills are essential in order to influence across the European matrix and to manage and develop a team of indirect reports
FULL eligibility to work in the UK is essential. Candidates who require visa sponsorship will not be considered. Full driving licence and ability to drive in European countries is required.
