Financial Accountant

A large, well known retail organisation who have recently expanded and looking for an experienced, qualified Accountant to join their Accounting team.

About the job

As Financial Accountant, you would be expected to carry out the following duties & responsibilities:

• Capital and Fixed Asset Accounting including maintenance of the fixed asset register

• Budgeting & forecasting

• Responsible for monthly forecasting process and monthly management accounts

• Developing and implementing ERP systems to ensure systems align with business strategy

• Preparation of monthly financial reports including statutory reports

• Responsibility for all areas of the P&L and balance sheet, producing monthly management accounts with variance analysis & commentary

• Monitor USD and GBP cash balances and arrange transfer of funds as appropriate, including monitoring of FX rates and hedging requirements

• Ensure timely processing of VAT returns & submission to HMRC

• Ensure reconciliations completed each month

• Working with internal and external auditors

About the person

• A qualified accountant (CIMA/ACCA/ACA or international equivalent) or by qualified by experience (QBE)

• Ideally, previous retail experience

• Financial control, record keeping and reporting experience needed
