Assistant Accountant - part-qualified - Real Estate - OUR CLIENT is the dynamic, international real estate arm of a sovereign wealth fund / investment company, with interests across the globe. They continue to grow and their European assets have already amassed to more than £1bn. Due to continued and planned expansion, they are seeking an Assistant Accountant to join their finance team - supporting a team of qualified accountants.

THE ROLE will focus, but not be limited to:

  • Updating and maintaining records of expenditures.
  • Coding invoices to the correct G/L accounts.
  • Conducting account reconciliations and analysis.
  • Preparing bank payments.
  • Recording and reconciling petty cash.
  • Ensuring that all payments are made in accordance with company policy.
  • Ensuring that all payments are paid on time.
  • Posting payments to customer accounts.
  • Organising and filing deposit receipts as invoices are paid.
  • Preparing reports on delinquent accounts and customer payment profiles.
  • Reconciling cash receipts and deposits.
  • Analysing financial records for accuracy.
  • Providing additional ad hoc support when required.

 

THE PERSON: To apply, you MUST possess at least 1-2 years relevant accounting experience in a real estate environment (either directly or via 3rd party accounting) and possess a relevant Accounting or Finance related degree or have commenced ACCA studies which will be supported by the client . You MUST have strong Excel / IT skills and be able to communicate effectively to other members of the team in both written and verbal form in the UK and internationally. As you will also be given a small SPV to run, you must also be able to demonstrate a thorough understanding of double entry accounting and accounts prep to balance sheet level. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate ability to multi-task and prioritise effectively, show ambition and a passion to develop themselves and be able to organise themselves.
