Financial Analyst

Based in Watford, Hertfordshire, our client is a national business with an impressive brand name and a consistently improving workforce. They are looking for an ACCA/CIMA part qualified accountant to join them on a permanent basis as a Finance Analyst.

This job would suit someone who is part-qualified, CIMA/ACCA or equivalent, ideally with SAP experience, although this is not essential. Ideally, you will have experience within a business partnering type role, where you will have been responsible for analysing costs, margins and improving areas of weakness. This role also provides you with the opportunity to work with Managers in managing costs, improving SLA's and increasing their profit margin company is a very successful, high profile business with many sites across the UK who is a market leader in its industry and is always looking to develop and grow further.

The successful individual will be an ACCA or CIMA studier looking for career move into a business that can offer a next move in 18 months. It is crucial that the individual is confident in communicating with senior people within the organisation and can work effectively within a vibrant team. Being proactive with the ability to work under your own initiative along with being confident in planning and prioritising workloads is vital.

Duties will include:

• Budgeting, forecasting and management accounting for staff costs and other key P&L lines
• Weekly tracking of costs, comparing actual spend with that reported by sites, highlighting trends in accuracy of site reporting of hours used
• Analysis of drivers of expenditure, highlighting trends, risks and opportunities
• Preparation of weekly bonus forecasts, monthly management accounting and balance sheet reconciliations
• Analysis and accounting of the holiday accrual, providing insight into drivers, including risks and opportunities
• Analysis of centralised costs, including identifying areas to improve operational efficiency and financial control
• Answering all P&L queries on these P&L areas
• Ad hoc analysis, e. to support cost-saving initiatives
