About the role

As Systems Development Accountant, you will hold the responsibility for reviewing outsourced financial arrangements and internal financial systems. Recommending improvements and changes to finance systems, you will ensure a more effective, efficient and economic approach to financial processes, and will manage change to ensure full delivery.

Working with the Head of Finance and the Financial Accounting Team you will develop a strategic approach to deliver more effective finance systems while leading the planning and implementation of the work, facilitating the definition of project scope, goals and deliverables.

You will plan out all work and ensure regular monitoring to enable assessment of progress and resolution of any issues. Your goal will be to ensure that new products and/or services are delivered to the appropriate level of quality, on time, within budget and in line with the plan.

You will be responsible for the quality assurance and integrity of the agreed work and will oversee best approach to all training requirements across finance teams.

You will contribute to strong leadership in support of professional excellence and CQC values and you will maintain a good communication with all stakeholders as well as undertaking any other duties as commensurate with your role.

 

About you

You will be a qualified accountant with proven success managing complex organisational wide programmes/projects and a strong working knowledge of programme and project management methodologies, e.g. MSP, PRINCE2.

You should be able to think and act strategically to develop practical, innovative and creative solutions to the management of complex strategic issues and have an understanding and experience of budgetary control and resource allocation procedures.

Along with your ability to lead by example and motivate a matrix team to perform to the highest standards you will create a sense of community in your team through your visibility, integrity, openness, transparency and accountability in your role.

Highly collaborative with strong interpersonal skills, you will also have excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
