Interim Financial Controller

RSK has recently undertaken a period of rapid growth through acquisition, acquiring 11 businesses in the last two years. The accounts and credit control functions for the legacy businesses are centralised in Helsby. The accounts functions of the newer acquisitions are currently managed locally to their operations. We see potential to improve the working capital position of the Group significantly by a focused review and challenge process over a short to medium term period and are recruiting a qualified accountant to carry out this very specific role.

Interim Financial Controller – Helsby, Cheshire

We are seeking an experienced Financial Controller for a four month period to start immediately and report directly into the Group Finance Director, focusing on the working capital management of the Group.

Core Responsibilities include:

• Supporting the six Divisional Directors in their review and management of debtors and work in progress
• To review and follow up with credit control and project managers the aged debt and credit control processes across the whole group to ensure collected as quickly as possible
• To review and follow up with project managers the work in progress and billing processes across the whole group to ensure it is being billed in a timely manner
• To identify and action improvements to processes and procedures which would improve working capital
• Preparing reports as necessary to aid in the review of working capital

Skills and person specification

You will be a commercially minded Accountant who is able to demonstrate a strong understanding of the financial controls and processes required for a consulting business. You will have worked in a similar role before and be keen to assist with the improvement of the working capital position of the business. You will be a qualified Accountant and have strong IT skills.

• Accounting qualification - ideally ACA, ACCA or CIMA with previous experience within a Finance Controller capacity
• Strong knowledge of best practice Credit Control Processes and Procedures
• Intermediate Excel Skills

• To work to a high level of accuracy and with a keen eye for detail

• Willing to travel in the UK

Annual Salary:  £40,000 - £60,000
