Our client, a household brand name and local employer of choice, with a fantastic track record retaining and rewarding top talent, is looking to source a confident and highly capable Finance Manager with German language skills.
As the business continues to grow in the UK and Europe, there is a need for a technically strong and analytically minded individual to take ownership of the German operation, reporting to the Financial Controller and managing one Accounting Analyst.
Main duties include:
* Overall responsibility for the complete and accurate financial & management accounting and reporting for German business
* Providing accounting services across Germany to a growing and increasingly complex business
* Supporting German Finance team and act as interface and single point of contact into the UK financial control and SSC
* Leading month end close process and reporting cycle by engaging and partnering with the wider finance teams
* Leading on accounting policies adherence
* Maintaining effectively of controls
* Supporting Operational audit team during audit process, including site visits to Germany (minimal travel, approx. once every 6 months)
Key skills and experience includes:
* Qualified Accountant with a strong academic record
* Well-grounded in accounting policies and best practice (UKGAAP/IFRS)
* Fluent German and English speaking
* Previous track record in a financial accounting and reporting focused role, with exposure to management accounting and analysis
* Examples to date of improving financial processes and implementing new ways of working
* Confident and credible character, capable of interacting with senior stakeholders and Group
