Our client is an autonomous, major division of a well-established, highly regarded International Group with global operations spanning a variety of sectors including engineering, infrastructure, support services, energy, rail, logistics & energy. Operating from the UK head Office you will be the lead Management Accountant/Commercial Business Partner for a £100m+ business portfolio with over 40 sites throughout the UK. Working closely for the Divisional FD, and managing a team of 5, this is a highly visible, highly commercial role where you will be instrumental in supporting commercial decisions and growing business profitability through working closely with all key Budget holders and Stakeholders to deliver optimum business performance. - Developing a thorough understanding of the business and its performance drivers, identifying and tracking key performance indicators (KPI's) and working with Ops teams to drive optimum efficiency, service and performance
- Interpretation of business financial performance, identifying risks, challenges and opportunities and presenting this to the senior management team
- Capital investment/business case review and evaluation and board paper submission making recommendations for approval
- Supporting existing customer renewals & account development
- Finance Lead/with the implementation of new business in line with group finance and administration operating procedures
- Supporting the commercial team and sector director with new business tenders and customer renewals
- Provision of customer profitability analysis
- Reviewing all working practices within the sector and providing insight and input into projects to enhance the daily/weekly management information reporting
- Review of weekly profit & loss and KPI data and providing variance analysis with commentary
- Ownership of the monthly management accounts
- Responsibility for the preparation of the annual budget and quarterly forecasts including presentation to the executive team
- Monthly review of the sector balance sheet
- Review and evaluation of margin improvement initiatives
- Development of a strong finance team, with regular team communication and a focus on staff training, development, retention and succession planning
