Group Financial Accountant

Our client is a family owned and run property company.  With a property portfolio approaching £1bn, and a 1.5million sq ft development pipeline and other business interests, the reporting for the Group has become more complex, necessitating the expansion of the Group Finance team.  The responsibilities for this newly created role are wide-ranging and will include:

Financial Accounting: Preparation of statutory and no-statutory reporting including consolidations; Support annual audit process; Acquisition and disposal accounting preparation; Preparation and review of complex balance sheet accounts; Bank reporting; Ensure financial controls are robust and maintained.  Management Accounting: Preparation of consolidated group quarterly management accounts (including profit / forecast reconciliations together with commentary); Review and challenge variance analysis provided by Finance teams.  Forecasting and Cash Planning: Assistance with preparation of group forecasting – P&L and Balance Sheet; Aid provision for cash based scenarios eg re-financing, acquisition, short term deposits; Assist in the production of cash forecasts.

This is an ideal role for a recently qualified technically strong accountant with experience of auditing complex consolidations.  You will possess strong analytical skills, with excellent presentation skills and be a strong team player.  There is potential to progress both within the Group Finance function as well as across different Finance teams in the Group.
