My client is a prestigious and leading grower, importer and distributor of food produce from around the world. They have a large customer base which includes leading UK supermarkets, food service and wholesale clients and this growing organisation generates annual revenues of circa £170m with over 1000 employees across its state-of-the art UK facilities.

The organisation has an enviable reputation for developing integrated partnerships and taming complex supply chains both at home and across the world to deliver quality produce and with continuous re-investment in production facilities and people, the focus is on delivering profitable and commercially sustainable solutions while enriching local communities and the environment.

The Finance Director will assume financial responsibility for the organisation and lead a finance department to deliver stakeholder value. As a member of the Executive Board you will partner the owners and be responsible for financial planning, financial performance, management and reporting. You will work closely with the owners and other members of the senior management team to compile budgets and insight to support the wider business.

You will also partner non-finance colleagues to challenge and reduce overhead costs and increase profitability while ensuring efficient and automated financial systems, processes and frameworks improve day-to-day finance operations. As a partner to the business, the role will create a new level of financial reporting which will ensure the timely and accurate delivery of financial and management information across the Group.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining effective relationships with the full spectrum of third party professional advisers on behalf of the company and you will work with them to grow and develop this business. You will take responsibility for maintaining the risk/reward balance of deals and be integral in the due diligence and business integration process.

This role is therefore concerned both with strategic financial matters and the running of an effective, finance and accounting function.

You will be a qualified accountant and finance leader with entrepreneurial flair, confident in your ability to lead from the front and able to bring people with you on the journey. You will have a real understanding of the role of finance in supporting the growth and development of a truly entrepreneurial business. The Finance Director will be based at the company headquarters in West London and can expect to undertake some UK and occasional international travel, particularly when appraising new development opportunities for the business.
