A successful business based in Cheadle are currently looking to recruit a Financial Planning and Analysis Accountant on a permanent basis. Reporting into the Financial Director you will be responsible for;

  • Providing financial and commercial analysis and information to support operational business decision making

  • Performing a key role in all management reporting, budgeting, forecasting and planning processes, providing full analysis and insight of key business drivers

  • Helping improve management information, developing new reports and models as appropriate

  • Analysing business performance, challenging assumptions and highlighting any risks and opportunities to improve performance

  • Support in the implementation of business strategies, forging close working relationships with divisional managers
  • Analysing results and the review of Margins and Product Profitability - daily review of transactions, review of stock balances, recording and monitoring promotions, overview of operational costs

  • Overall responsible for the budget process including group consolidation and the production of forecasts when required

  • Cash forecasting, planning and reporting for the medium and long term

  • Development of recording and reporting key drivers of the business, working with divisions within the business to improve the effectiveness of reporting

  • Internal reviews of controls and procedures to ensure effectiveness and to seek efficiency improvements

  • Overview of the accounting for other operating units & group companies with analysis of performance

  • Undertake due diligence work for possible acquisitions

  • In order to be considered for the role you will be a hands-on, qualified accountant with a skill set covering short and long-range planning, analysis and budgeting with a commercial outlook. You will be comfortable 'rolling up your sleeves' and immersing yourself in the detail with a strong analytical ability, flexible thinking and a dynamic, innovative approach as new business challenges arise. You will have a desire to constantly improve the performance information that you provide, using your detailed knowledge of P&L metrics coupled with advanced Excel skills.
