Role Summary

The Finance Manager will have overall responsibility for ensuring a complete and accurate set of Management Accounts are produced by the team, which will be used in creating AXELOS's financial statements. The Finance Manager will own the financial reporting process and deliver outputs to various stakeholders including the Executive Leadership team, the AXELOS Board and Capita Group.

Responsibilities

  • Responsibility for the month-end process; ensuring an accurate set of Management Accounts is produced by the team in a timely manner.
  • Creation and ownership of the:
  • Monthly Performance Pack for the Executive Leadership Team, which reports on all KPI's (financial and commercial) across the organisation
  • Monthly Board Pack which report financial performance to the AXELOS Board
  • Monthly shareholder Management Accounting Pack, which includes a view of AXELOS's financial statements
  • Monthly Performance Report (MPR) which includes the reporting of financial and non-financial performance to Capita Group
  • Ad-hoc reporting requests from the business and shareholders
  • Supporting with the interim and year end external audit
  • Working with the Project Management team to track and report project progress against business case assumptions and forecast
  • Ownership and co-ordination of the annual business plan; working with the business to produce realistic cost budgets/challenging revenue targets. Ensuring that financial plans are in synch with the overall strategy/ objectives of the organisation and seeking buy-in from shareholders of said plans
  • Managerial responsibilities for the Management Accountant and Accuracy and timeliness of Management Accounts and all reporting

  • Ability to proactively tailor reports as required to meet the needs of the business and deliver value
  • Finance Associate (direct reports)

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Experience in a Finance Manager or comparable role
  • Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
  • The ability to deliver against deadlines
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
  • Intermediate level Excel skills
  • The ability to question and challenge, as appropriate, on own initiative

Desirable

  • Advanced level Excel skills
  • Knowledge of SAP/ Axiom financial software packages
