ROLE Summary

The AXELOS Finance team is seeking an experienced and professional Financial Accounting Manager to join our growing team. The Financial Accounting Manager will collaborate with various stakeholders across the business (including the Executive Leadership Team), with the aim of ensuring that the financial controls that AXELOS has in place remain effective and relevant and new controls are proactively implemented should the need occur.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

* Assist the Capita Group Finance team in producing AXELOS's statutory accounts

* Liaise with the internal and external audit teams to ensure adequate information is provided for interim, year-end and internal audits

* Ensure controls around procurement are adhered to/ amended as appropriate should the need occur and educating the business on these processes

* Maintain existing controls around capital expenditure to satisfy both internal and Capita Group requirements, i. approved business cases

* On-going review of the controls around recruitment within AXELOS and ensuring these are being adhered to

* Review and approval of purchase requests, vendor approvals and access rights

* Own the annual salary review process across the organisation

* Produce capex forms for project spend which clearly document the business/ commercial rationale and financial metrics for the investment

* Own relationship with Group Accounts Payable to ensure supplier payments are made in a timely manner

* Management and development responsibilities for the Finance Associate (a direct report)

Key Performance Indicators

* Successful internal and external audits

* Production of AXELOS's statutory accounts within the defined completion date

* High purchase request compliance

* High quality capex forms being produced which clearly illustrate the need for investment

* The ability to deliver against deadlines

* Strong written and verbal communications skills

* Intermediate level Excel skills

* The ability to question and challenge, as appropriate, on own initiative

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATION

* Experience in a Financial Accounting Manager or comparable role

* Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)

DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE

Advanced level Excel skills

Knowledge of SAP/ Axiom financial software packages
