Axiom are working with a FTSE 250 organisation who are recruiting for a Tax Accountant; tasks include supporting the Corporate Tax Manager in Group corporate tax reporting, return preparation, monitoring of corporate tax compliance risk and the documentation and development of associated policies and procedures thereon.
Based in Group Tax team at Head Office, the role reports to the Corporate Tax Manager.
Key Responsibilities include;
- Work closely with the Corporation Tax Manager, and other personnel within the Group Corporation Tax compliance function to gain efficiencies and drive best performance within the department
- Deliver a full range of tax services in compliance with laws and regulations within timeframe, in relation to Corporation Tax
- Build customer relationships and interact with internal and external customers to provide best in class corporate tax compliance support
- Assist with the accurate preparation and completion of all Group corporate tax reporting and return preparation and monitoring of corporate tax compliance risk.
- Assist in the automation of Hyperion reports and group tax consolidation process
- Assist in ensuring all relevant claims and elections are made on time
- Assist in R&D credit claims, including proactively engaging and managing external advisers, internal business units and the Kier Innovation Team. Consider initiatives to improve the process and bring on to a real-time basis.
- Assist in tax audits
- Ensure that all corporate tax reporting and tax returns completed and tax positions taken are fully and securely documented.
- Other reasonable duties including maintaining the Group Tax sharepoint site.
Person Specification
- Proven working experience within a Corporate Tax role in a professional or industry environment
- Previous experience in accounting processes, experience in a range of accounting areas, financial computer systems and knowledge of accounting legislation
- Good at meeting deadlines and solving problems
- Exceptional client service along with the ability to develop excellent client relationships
- Analytical skills with detail orientation
