A great opportunity to join one of the UKs most successful Media groups. Reporting into the CFO this position will lead the internal audit and internal controls function, ensuring compliance by the operating companies with policies and procedures. You will also support the senior finance management team in the operating review process alongside supporting any systems implementations across the group.

This is a highly visible role within the group and requires a considerable amount of liaison  with the operating companies, managing the audit/compliance team to deliver optimising opportunities and will work closely with the CFO.

The Role:

  • Manage and lead the Group internal audit function
  • Create the annual internal audit process and communicate plan to the operating companies; Coordinating the process and making recommendations for improvement of controls
  • Responsible for all aspects of compliance within the group and operating companies (eg. Health & Safety, Anti-Bribery etc)
  • Manage the quarterly Balance Sheet review
  • Assist the CFO in preparation of presentations for Stakeholders (eg Banks, the board etc)
  • Assist with the integration of new acquisitions into the group
  • Involved in significant analysis and preparation of an operating company exit;
  • Work closely with the Group Systems Manager for any group-wise system implementation projects from planning through to testing and execution; To include presentations by suppliers, selection of software, organise a working group within operating companies to facilitate the implementation
  • Assist with due diligence work and ad hoc analysis
  • Ensure controls and compliance manual is kept up to date.

The Person:

  • Qualified Auditor or Accountant (with 5-7 years PQE)
  • Proven project management skills with the ability to manage large scale projects from planning and selection through to implementation and testing
  • Strong audit experience required within complex organisations
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the confidence to build strong working relationships
  • Ability to present to senior management and be able to influence and direct others
  • Hands-on, energetic, proactive self-starter who can meet & exceed deadlines and manage projects through to closure
  • Strong analytical skills with advanced Excel/Financial Modelling skills
  • TV/Media experience preferred but not essential
  • Strong attention to detail with accuracy and speed.
