Pure have been exclusively retained to recruit a Financial Controller for a fast growing property developer with an exceptional local brand.

The business is in a rapid growth phase as a result of increased shareholder investment and now needs a Financial Controller who will in time, and with the guidance of the current Head of Finance, develop into the company's Finance Director. The newly created position of Financial Controller has four clear purposes:

1.To ensure the business is run in a compliant way and the finance function has strong systems, controls and processes
2.Lead implementation of and manage new IT systems across the business
3.Provide sound financial advice and guidance to the Managing Director and the senior management team
4.Contribute towards improved performance and profitability

Key Responsibilities

• Produce profit and cashflow forecasts on a monthly basis projecting forwards for the next 5 years together with relevant KPIs and analysis
• Produce an annual budget and monthly management accounts with comparisons to year to date expectation, including all relevant KPIs
• Manage cash against cashflow forecasts and ensure all stakeholders are paid on time
• Provide stewardship' to the Managing Director to ensure business decisions are justified financially
• Lead the implementation of new business software and be responsible for the day to day running of this software, acting as administrator as required
• Manage and develop a small finance team in addition to recruiting quality team members as the business grows
• Manage statutory compliance including the annual audit process, VAT, CIS, Corporation Tax, etc
• Manage key relationships such as Bank and Auditors
• Ensure fully compliant with all legal accounting regulations and deadlines
• Various ad-hoc reporting as required by the business

Skills, Knowledge, Experience

• Qualified Accountant - CIMA/ACCA/ACA
• Previous experience working within the construction industry desirable
• Strong commercial awareness and ability to add value
• Highly Computer literate with good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Advanced Excel, Sage construction, Anaplan, Viewpoint, etc
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written at all levels
• Organisation skills - able to prioritise and plan own and teams work load
• Ability to analyse data, interpret & relay information
• Strong financial modelling, budgeting and forecasting skills. Ability to present variances and improve performance
