Your new employer

A sizeable and rapidly growing division of a successful Group of manufacturing businesses is seeking a Cost Accountant to cover a period of maternity leave. Whilst this position will be recruited on a fixed term contract basis of 12 months initially, there is a strong potential of a longer-term requirement due to growth plans. The business has achieved 10% year-on-year growth over the last 3-4 years and they are expanding into new markets which in turn is likely to create opportunities.

Your role in your new job

Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will be required to maintain the standard costing system whilst reviewing and identifying areas for enhancement. Specific duties include analysis of cost of sales, raw materials and labour; reporting on product profitability highlighting areas for improved controls; inventory control, valuation and reporting; contributing to pricing strategies; and supporting with periodic budgets and forecasts.

Your experience and our requirements

It will be hugely advantageous if you have worked within a manufacturing setting and have working knowledge of product costing activity. However, this is an ideal opportunity for an analytically minded individual who is keen to step away from month end routine and gain exposure in a Cost Accounting capacity. Strong systems skills are essential including MS Excel, and you will be a confident communicator with experience of working cross-functionally within a business, supporting effective decision making to maximise profitability and drive business growth.

Your future as the successful candidate

You will benefit from a competitive salary, 25 days holiday and genuine scope for further opportunities within the business. An immediate start is available, please submit your CV for immediate consideration.
