Group Financial Accountant

Elevation Recruitment Group are pleased to be working with a leading group based in Chesterfield as they look to recruit a Financial Accountant for their head office location. The strategy for the business is geared towards continued growth and review of processes in order to maximise efficiency in it's operations.

The primary purpose of the role is provide technical expertise and management account reporting to local management and the Group.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the accurate and timely delivery of financial and management providing technical advice to the Reporting Team and wider business. In addition there will be Internal and External Audit support, and the calculation and reporting of indirect taxes, National Statistics surveys and ad hoc information requests.

Reporting into the Finance Manager within a specialist team of three, duties and responsibilities will include:

*Deputising for the Reporting Manager as and when required
*Ensure management information and associated reporting are accurate and delivered on time.
*Manage indirect taxes reporting timelines and submissions
*Ensure compliance with relevant SOX requirements for their team
*Ensure internal and external audit requests and issues are resolved and delivered on a timely basis
*Timely completion of assigned tasks per the month end timetable
*Support ongoing drive to reduce turnaround for month end reporting to 4 working days
*Ensure completion and documentation of monthly SOX compliance
*Lead on the reconciliation of key/complex Balance Sheet control accounts
*Contribute to ongoing process improvements to ensure effective and efficient completion of individual and team responsibilities
*Support project work to ensure ongoing compliance around indirect tax matters

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate the following skills and experience:

*ACCA or ACA Qualified
*Interpersonal, articulate and energetic
*Desire and ability to take on responsibility
*Strong planning and organisation skills
*Proactive problem solver and drive continuous improvement
*Strong technical ability
*Tax knowledge beneficial (indirect taxes, corporation tax)
*Understanding of risk and controls
*Strong Excel skills and spreadsheet modelling
*Audit background beneficial (SOX)
*Mid/large organisation background
