CFO / Finance Director

Our client is a well-established private equity backed multi-channel business that is looking to strengthen its Board by hiring an experienced and commercially focused CFO.

As a key member of the management team, the CFO will be responsible for overseeing Finance, with a key remit on managing costs and driving performance as the organisation looks to enhance profitability prior to a planned exit.

Key Responsibilities;

• Inform and influence decision-making as part of the Board, challenging when necessary and helping both develop and implement robust forward strategies for the business. 
• Provide regular detailed insight and KPI's to the Private Equity investor. 
• Ensure there is an environment of strong financial control and balance sheet integrity
• Effective management of cash-flow including forecasting and analysis, expense and cost management.
• Develop and optimise accounting, process and controls and lead on IT & systems across the business.
• Manage, mentor and develop the finance function.
• Manage all external relationships including the Private Equity investor, banks and auditors. 

Candidate Background; 

• Proven and experienced CFO who must have a background in Private Equity gained in wholesale / distribution / retail type organisations
• Qualified Chartered accountant (ACA or equivalent), with sound technical skills
• Highly motivated individual with an energetic hands-on approach. 
• Commercial and strategic mindset with the ability to work outside the traditional confines of finance
• Ability to work effectively with Private Equity investors.
• Turnaround / Restructuring experience would be advantageous. Experience of leading a successful sale process is preferred.
