Our client is looking to recruit a permanent member of staff with relevant experience to join their busy team.  The role of Rents & Service Charge Accountant is to provide expert advice and support to Group managers regarding current and future rent and service charge accounting matters. To develop a high performing Rents & Service Charges team. Provide peer challenge across the finance team to drive team performance. Deliver a first-class internal service that is valued by colleagues and external parties.

Main responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Develop and implement the Group’s Rent & Service Charges Setting Policy ensuring compliance with statutory/regulatory requirements.

Update customer rent and service charge accounts in a timely manner.

Ensure the Group's service charges are accurate, fully recover the cost of the services being provided, and the charges to customers are apportioned appropriately.

Identify, implement and maintain appropriate payment methods for customers.

Statutory Reporting – ensure the statutory reporting to the HCA regarding Rent & Service Charge accounting is accurate.

Identify and develop key internal and external relationships that will enhance the provision of Finance and Business Assurance support activities.

Leading and developing direct reports, ensuring they have the capacity and capability to deliver their operational plans including learning and development requirements, providing appropriate training and development support and succession planning.

Salary dependent on experience £32,000 – £38,000 per annum. Candidates must have relevant previous experience and be either AAT qualified or studying for an accountancy qualification such as CIMA, ACCA, ACA.
