A unique and exceptionally interesting/challenging role within a FTSE100 Listed Sports/Retail/Gaming organisation is currently being recruited for. It will provide the successful candidate with experience that will look fantastic on their CV, being completely responsible for delivering £65 million of savings across the business in the next 2 years and exposure to the highest level of stakeholders in a multi-billion-pound Plc business. The role will be on an initial 2 year Fixed Term Contract to start asap.

The integration Operational Design (OD) lead (Finance/business/data analyst) is responsible for setting up, reporting, analysis and forecasting of the integration OD synergies and supporting the Integration Director(s), Workstream Executive Sponsors and the Steering Committee in the delivery of the expected staff cost synergies and restructuring costs.  The role should provide direct challenge (if required) to workstream leaders on their OD plans and delivery and provide a degree of autonomy and gravitas is important. The individual in the role needs to work closely with all workstreams to understand how and when they expect the synergies to be delivered and centrally report on overall synergy expectations. In addition, provide an understanding of the new Mergco operational cost base working closely with the relevant stakeholders including Finance, HR, and the Divisions to ensure robust base plans are produced given knowledge of the integration implementation. Understanding new operational staff costs expected as a result of the integration.

Key Responsibilities:

·       Lead design of OD data collection and mapping process to ensure scope is clearly defined and correct data is collected and lessons learnt from past integration are learnt.

·        Business understanding to ensure workstreams develop forecasts which are directly related to their workplans (and to help them do so, when required).

·        Analytical skills to collate and verify HR and financial information from the workstreams, and project impact on corporate financials.

·        Financial / synergy tracking experience to develop and support the process to monitor, control and track synergies for MergeCo.

·        Finance function experience to enable reconciliation of projected synergies to HR data and actual results in finance systems.

·        Provide direct challenge to workstream leaders on their synergy plans and delivery if not in line with integration expectations.

·        Finance and HR systems user capability to develop approach to embed integration cost and synergy tracking efficiently into finance processes and systems.

·        Professional scepticism to ensure that all effects of workstream plans are captured in financial impacts, and confidence to correct errors when they occur.

·        Planning capability to ensure that all papers are prepared on time for the relevant person / body for review or approval.

To be considered for this excellent opportunity, you will be a partly/newly qualified accountant available within 1 month or ideally less, with a strong cost focused data/business/financial analysis background that has experiencing budgeting for Payroll/HR costs. The ideal candidate will have exceptional Excel and high-volume data, business and financial analysis skills, and if you’ve been through a large scale change and restructuring programmes. The successful candidate will be highly organised in order that the approvals and results can be efficiently audited, creative and persistent in order to help improve process efficiency and effectiveness in light of the developing programme and stakeholder needs and highly flexible team player to pick up urgent tasks, when required, which may be relevant to the programme and not to finance. In addition, you will be responsible for OD and people synergy tracking including understanding HR data, and team coordination of redundancy illustrations.
