Assistant Accountant role paying up to £35k + study support for wholesale business in London. AAT ACCA CIMA

Your new company
A wholesale business that specialises in alcohol/drinks is looking for an assistant accountant to join their head office function based in Central London. Sitting in a finance team of 11, reporting directly to the Finance Manager of the business, this is a fantastic opportunity for a an individual who is looking to really excel their career and take it to the next step.

Your new role
Reporting to the qualified Finance Manager and working closely with the Financial Controller, you will be responsible for all month end processes including accruals, prepayments, balance sheet reconciliations and stock reporting. The business is split into two entities - one with a value of circa £60m, the other roughly £11m. You will have complete ownership of the smaller entity from start to finish including invoice processing (low volume) to management accounts prep. Initially the client is looking for someone who is happy to start off in a trasactional space - looking after a number of bank accounts and general cash management, identifying any discrepancies. Further down the line, the role will have a very exciting analytical offering whereby you will be responsible for analysing various aspects to identify cost saving opportunities. You will also be working closely with various departmental heads to give commercial insight and analysis on business operations.

What you'll need to succeed
You will have experience in a role that focuses heavily on reconciliations, cash management and identification of errors and discrepancies. You will also have exposure to month end processes as well as budgeting and forecasting. Ideally you will have around 5 years plus experience in such a role and be willing to learn new roles and responsibilities. Preferably you will currently be working within the retail/wholesale/FMCG industry and be passionate about building a career within this space, although this is not essential.
