Financial Accountant

A global organisation who are one of the leaders within there particular industry is recruiting for a Group Financial Accountant to help support the Group Finance Manager.

The position of Group Financial Accountant will support the Group Finance Manager in delivering the Group's annual financial information. They will liaise with subsidiary Finance Directors and Financial Controllers to collect information, analyse data and ensure consistent reporting across the group.
The Group Financial Accountant will be responsible for:

• Preparation of the consolidated statutory financial statements
• Work with the Group Finance Manager to coordinate the monthly submission of subsidiary company results and the preparation of the Group consolidated results and associated reports including preparation of consolidation journals and accounting for group holding companies
• Maintain and develop the Group consolidation software
• Undertake financial and commercial review of capex requests submitted for Group approval
• Assist in the preparation, consolidation and review of the annual budget and supporting documents required for the annual valuation process
• Work with the Group Finance team to prepare the Group Audit, Risk and Compliance Committee papers on a quarterly basis
• Assist in the review of subsidiaries key reconciliations and other half-year and year end reporting requirements
• Assist in the research and evaluation of specific accounting transactions and assess the impact on the consolidated Group
• Undertake ad hoc analyses and projects as required including acquisition due diligence work

The successful Group Financial Accountant will have experience in :

• Good academic results including A-Level mathematics
• Graduate
• ACA qualified or CIMA qualified with statutory accounts experience
• Analytical mind-set
• Good business understanding
• Detail orientated
• Ambitious / keen to learn and develop skills quickly
• Effective communicator at all levels (verbal/written)
• An ability to explain complex financial information in a clear way
• Cognos Controller (not essential)
• Professional and diligent
• Well organised and methodical
• Inquisitive and persuasive
• Honest and discrete
