Based in Hemel Hempstead, our client is a growing SME with multiple sites across the UK and a loyal client base since inception over 10 years ago. They are requiring a qualified by experience or part qualified Finance Manager to join their team on a 12-month Fixed Term Contract covering Maternity leave.

This job would suit an experienced company accountant, who can assist the management team in their decision-making processes by producing accurate and punctual financial reports and information, developing and motivating the finance team and improving the efficiency of reporting.

This company is a leader in its sector and is looking for some stable hands to control their finances and manage their small team in the absence of the Finance Manager over the next 12 months from October. The finance team consists of 2 direct reports who predominantly focus on the transactions for the business. They operate their accounts on Sage Line 50, so it is desirable that the individual has used this before, although it's not a prerequisite.

The successful individual will be a strong all-round Accountant with experience of both management and financial accounting as well as experience leading a small team. The position will report to the Managing Director and will ultimately be responsible for running the finance team and the information it produces. The ability to streamline processes and develop information for the accounts to be produced within deadlines and with a high degree of quality and understanding is key.

Duties will include:

• Produce accurate and detailed monthly management accounts
• Produce accurate and detailed annual budgets, re-forecasting and analysing the progress of actuals against financial plans
• Produce monthly sales analysis & review finance KPI's
• Produce a monthly financial narrative to be distributed with the management accounts and the CEO's monthly update
• Produce ad-hoc analysis for senior management on key projects
• Calculate annual management and intercompany interest recharges
• Ensure reconciliations of balance sheet accounts are completed
• Review investment portfolio journals
• Managing and developing the Finance team including one-to-one sessions, appraisals and ongoing support

This is a great all-round Finance Manager position to take ownership of the account processes of a growing SME whilst also acting as lead for a small and self-sufficient finance team.
