An opportunity has arisen for a Head Office Accountant to join a luxury hotel group based in central London.

My client is a prestigious hotelier and operates a number of hotels across the world at the premium end of the 5* market. They are based in central London.

Description

The role will include:

• Responsibility for the accounting for all corporate entities at the Centre

• Monthly analysis of the Corporate results and bespoke analysis of information on request

• Monthly update of forecasts in conjunction with department heads

• Management of the Corporate invoicing and follow up of outstanding receivables

• Review/preparation of bank reconciliations and cash flows for the Corporate entities

• Preparation of balance sheet reconciliations and supporting files

• Preparation of the VAT and EC returns for the Corporate group

• Accounting and control of the Group's voucher company

• Reconciliation of the Corporate intercompany loans and trading balances

• Managing the Accounts Payable function (managed by the Finance Assistant) and ensuring aged payables are adequately followed up

• Processing of payroll journals and assistance with the payroll function

• Preparation of monthly commentary for the Executive Committee reporting

Profile

The ideal candidate is an experienced accountant who has had experience in a medium to large company environment, preferably multi-currency.

• The candidate must be a team player who has significant experience of bookkeeping.
• Exposure to the hotel sector is desirable but not critical.
• The candidate should have experience in corporate accounting and administration (VAT, PAYE).
• A high level of communication skills is essential; fluent English (written and spoken) is essential and any of Italian, German or Russian is desirable.
