Finance Governance and Compliance Manager
Weybridge, Surrey

The Finance Governance and Compliance team support management to build a strong governance infrastructure in a dynamic environment by clearly defining accountability and ownership and promote a culture of self-assessment to drive efficiencies and continuous improvement.
The role is to design and establish strong governance processes across Europe and US to manage Financial Reporting, Compliance and Statutory Risks as well as support key Stakeholders in the non-Finance areas with their decision making by providing guidance on compliance matters. The successful candidate will have IFRS implementation experience.
Key Responsibilities & Scope for Decision Making
- Lead IFRS implementation project for the regions
- Promote Corporate Accounting Policy and other corporate policies under responsibility
- Provide technical support and assistance in complex accounting matters to the accounting community
- Maintain documentation of finance and accounting policies and procedures
- Develop E-Learning solutions and CAP trainings to Accounting Community based on Policies and Practices
- Lead Accounting Compliance community discussions and decisions for policy and process harmonisations
- Manage Entity Finance Governance reviews for the entities under responsibility

- All Finance Processes
- Sony Europe Ltd, Sony North America Inc.
- Other European and US Sony Electronics Subsidiaries
Qualifications & Experience required of our Finance Governance and Compliance Manager:
- IFRS implementation experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance is required or equivalent, Business Studies optional
- Experience as a financial auditor; and/or risk and quality assurance from Big 4
- Knowledge of ERP financial systems and PC skills required
- Experience of working in a global organisation with virtual teams
- Ability to manage multiple projects in parallel
- Certification in at least one area preferred: CPA, ACCA, CMA, etc. or an advanced post graduate accounting degree is preferred.
