Well established and rapidly expanding specialist Insurance group based in Barnet , Hertfordshire ,require an experienced Finance Manager /Controller to take responsibility for the finance function, develop and improve existing processes and procedures that will keep pace with the companies on going growth and ever changing compliance and regulatory requirements of the Insurance industry
Supervising a small team of 4 and reporting to the directors you will be responsible for all aspects of the finance function and duties will include :
- Interacting with and receiving information from various divisions,cost centres and departmental managers
- Setting up a framework to standardise information and reporting procedures across departments
- Identifying key performance indicators and designing succinct and relevant reports and analysis for the directors to use.
- Successfully improve and Implement internal Audit processes to capture all relevant information for compliance purposes
- Cost Management and analysis
- Ensuring all costs are accurately captured and identified to each department allowing effective and detailed cost analysis
- Produce more effective and user friendly Financial and Management reports
- Regular board level reporting together with ad hoc analysis as required
- Work closely with directors regarding planning and long term strategy ( depending on previous experience)
- Identify and manage regulatory change
- Represent the company in Audits by the regulator and other providers
The ideal candidate should :
- Be Qualified ACA or ACCA
- Be very commercially astute with a high level of business acumen
- Have at least 5 years previous experience gained within the insurance or brokerage industry .
- Have a strong personality with the ability to challenge salesmen and Directors and deal effectively with people at all levels
- Possess strong strong systems skills with evidence of process and procedural improvement within a financial services environment,
- Be up to date with compliance requirements with the ability to identify areas of regulatory and legal change and work with senior colleagues to deliver this change
