Finance Manager

I am working with one of the largest property companies who has their Client Accounting team based in Birmingham City Centre and they are looking for an experienced Finance Manager to oversee a new team. They have gone through some changes recently and as a result of continued success are expanding their team and looking for driven and professional individuals.

You will be in a client facing role so must have the confidence and ability to develop relationships with external clients and have proven experience in presenting financial data.

As Finance Manager you will be responsible for:

• Managing a team of 6 - 8 client accountants
• Acting as the main contact for clients, surveyors, and other parties on all aspects of accounting
• Completing client accounting records including statements and or/ profit and loss balance sheet reporting, VAT and other tax reporting
• Attending client meetings as required and work with clients to understand their financial needs
• Compiling regular reports in accordance with agreed timescales ensuring all necessary reviews have been undertaken and signed off
• Review property expenditure on a regular basis, agreeing accuracy of coding with surveyors and facilities managers, resolving queries with suppliers and actioning and amendments
• Liaising with the credit control team to understand the arrears position and report to clients accordingly
• Complete all statutory reporting on behalf of clients
• Oversee the set up and continued maintenance of the chart of accounts, sub ledger structure, banking rules and transaction types relating to the portfolio
• Reporting to clients based on a trial balance to include profit and loss and balance sheet control

As Finance Manager you will have:

• A relevant qualification (AAT/ ACCA/ CIMA/ ACA)
• Experience in a management type role would be preferred, however if you are a Senior Client Accountant looking for the next step they are happy to consider candidates at this level
• Experience of internal and external financial reporting, financial operations and associated processes and controls
• Strong attention to detail and be highly numerical, with excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Some knowledge of the property industry is preferable
