This Head of Payroll position is for a Level 6 CIPP qualified Payroller that boasts at least 3 years in a similar role and has management experience. It is a job of high responsibility and the ideal candidate needs to be up to the challenge to work in a busy and fast paced environment.

A leading Managed and Bureau Payroll services provider based in East London seek an experienced Head of Payroll to join the team and lead from the front together with responsibility to the Board and other key stakeholders.
Description
The key responsibilities include:
- Payroll services delivery
- Sets strategy, oversees and coordinates all aspects of payroll service, policy and delivery across the business.
- Ensures the implementation and administration of payroll policies and procedures are compliant with company and relevant laws, policies and regulations.
- Is ultimately responsible for ensuring the accuracy of and approving all master payroll calendars, processing schedules and the timely and accurate delivery of pay to all direct or client employees.
- Someone who can oversee the day to day payroll offering for a high volume payroll.
- Maintains, both personally and across the team, a high level of attention to detail.
- Stakeholder engagement
- Sets strategy on how client requirements are delivered within the team and that the output produced meets product/service standards and exceeds quality standards.
- Addresses payroll issues escalated by both internal / external stakeholders.
- Strong communication skill set both in writing, verbally together with excellent presentation skills.
- Serves as subject matter and industry expert on payroll administration.
- Query resolution
- Leads on the regular review of payroll supplier relationships.
- Leads the development of reports for presentation to stakeholder management on identified issues, errors and inefficiencies.
- Transformation, change management and growth
- Reviews internal and external bids impacting payroll design, potential new components evaluation and existing components to be assessed.
- Uses broad knowledge of the field and best practice solutions to approve or adjust proposals.
- Leads the implementing changes impacting payroll through planning and leadership.
- Acts as the subject matter expert as the company looks to continuous service improvement and efficiency's
- People management
- Is the senior point of decision making as the business looks to recruit, direct, motivate and develop staff, maximising their individual contribution, their professional growth and their ability to function effectively with their colleagues as a team.
- Responsible for the review of resource allocation across the team aligned with payrolls and clients to ensure projects are on schedule and within budget.
Profile
The successful candidate will have the following:
- CIPP Qualification to level 6
- 3 years payroll experience at a senior level and come from bureau services business.
- Experience in payroll environment with customer service exposure
- Personal organisation and prioritisation
- Knowledge of QTAC / Resourcelink payroll software and payrolls desirable
